DESCRIPTION:The Faculty of Applied Sciences of the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ is delighted to welcome its new first year students to the upcoming Orientation Programme\, commencing on 14th May 2025 at 12.45 p.m. at the Bandaranayake Hall. You are supposed to be seated at Bandaranayake Hall before 12.30 p.m. \nDress Code: There is no specific dress code. Your attire should be appropriate for the orientation programme and University atmosphere. \nMentoring WhatsApp Groups: Please join to your WhatsApp groups by referring the mentoring group number mentioned prior to your name. There are University Staff members to help you with required information. \nThis four-day programme is thoughtfully designed to help students’ transition smoothly into the university life. It will feature a series of engaging sessions aimed at familiarising students with academic expectations\, university resources\, support services\, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. \n\nInaugural Session: A warm welcome and introduction to the university community.\nCounselling Session: Offering guidance and support to help students to navigate their academic journey and future career aspects while promoting mental well-being.\nLibrary Orientation: Helping students to access library resources.\nLearning at the University Session: Sharing strategies for academic success.\nMentoring Program: Fostering mentor-mentee relationships with academic staff.\nIntroduction to Departments and Programmes to Students: Exploring different Departments and Units.\nFAS Open Day: Interacting with academic staff members.\n\nThe programme is designed not only to prepare students academically but also to support their personal development.
